Meet Amanda, Licensed Clinical Master’s-Level Social Worker and Founder of Healing Haven Therapy, PLLC.

I’m Amanda Schantz, a Licensed Clinical Master’s-Level Social Worker practicing in Michigan specializing in mental health. I founded Healing Haven Therapy, PLLC, to offer a supportive, nonjudgmental space for individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and life’s many transitions.

In my work, I use evidence-based psychotherapy practices and a trauma-informed lens to help you process and navigate current life stressors. Whether you’re quietly struggling or simply ready to talk, I’m here to listen — and to walk with you through this season.

Why I Started Healing Haven Therapy

After years of walking alongside people through some of the hardest moments of their lives, I realized how many carry their struggles quietly — trying to manage anxiety, overwhelm, and the weight of expectations without enough support. Starting my own practice allows me to create a space that is slower, intentional, and centered on true connection. A space where you can show up as you are, be heard fully, and receive care that honors your unique experience.

Life is complicated enough. You shouldn’t have to navigate the difficult parts on your own.

My Approach to Therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, reflective, and collaborative. I help clients explore why they may feel, think, or respond in certain ways, guiding them to better understand their internal experiences and patterns. I prioritize building a strong, trusting relationship, giving space for clients to feel safe, heard, and supported.

In session, I take a curious and exploratory stance, helping clients connect with different parts of themselves and normalize the range of emotions and inner experiences they notice. Once a solid therapeutic rapport is established, I gently challenge patterns or beliefs that may be limiting growth, always with care and attunement. I believe that meaningful change emerges from a balance of safety, insight, and the courage to explore difficult truths — and that rupture and repair in the therapeutic relationship are natural and valuable parts of the process.

Overall, my style blends deep empathy, reflective listening, and exploratory dialogue, providing a space where clients can understand themselves more fully, develop coping skills, and build the resilience needed to navigate life’s challenges.

A Few Things I Believe:

Your emotions are valid — even the ones that feel heavy or difficult.

Major transitions unfold over time—they’re more than just one experience.

Meaningful change becomes possible when you feel safe—emotionally, mentally, and relationally.
